Hi there!
In case we don't know each other, I'm Ozzie…nice to meet you :)
At the risk of being immediately cancelled but for the sake of transparency…it's true…I am a Realtor. Gosh darn it, why have we gotten such a bad wrap?! I swear we aren't all the same though and I intend to prove you wrong. :)
In my defense, I wasn't always a Realtor! And Realtor is not all that I am.
For the past 14 years I have been a birth and postpartum Doula, which gives me the unique advantage of understanding that big life transitions take big patience, compassion and more importantly lots of empathy. I've supported literally hundreds (and hundreds) of families navigate statistics, data and options, while simultaneously guiding them in finding what truly makes them feel empowered in their very individual experiences. Just like having a baby, buying or selling a home is a HUGE undertaking which requires lots of hand-holding.
I've also owned a media and events company and one of my greatest passions is community building. I love bringing people together by creating incredible spaces and content to inspire and invoke curiosity.
So while I make a living now as a Realtor, it's not what I lead with. I think there's more to life then making money, and I believe living comes from relationships and being of service to others…through collaboration, connection and community.
I have pondered for many hours where the general public got this "bad taste" when it comes to real estate agents (I myself was one of them and cringed when the suggestion came that I embark on this professional journey). My guess is it has come from perhaps bad experiences, misunderstanding and the stinky "commission breath".
We as Realtors have an incredible amount of work to do to stay in business (it is not what TV makes it trust me). And, I truly believe supporting families through this transition is an honor and we should hold ourselves to the highest of standards, with integrity and warmth.
We are the gatekeepers to building communities that thrive. And I intend to view my role as such, not just in real estate...but in everything I do in Boise.
I intend to break the paradigm of "the real estate agent" through warmth, authenticity and curiosity.
Therefore, stay a while. :) Enjoy the content that I curate for your pleasure, attend an event, lets get to know each other. And if you also need help with your home…I'm here for that too, whatever it is.
